Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Am I eligible to drive a Dryv vehicle?

A: You are eligible to apply for membership if you are 21 years or older and have a valid drivers license.

Q: How do you verify drivers eligibility to drive a Dryv vehicle?

A: We verify license information through a trusted, safe and secure, certified B Corp provider. They do not and cannot mine and sell user data to other third parties.

What to expect:

  1. Scan license
  2. Take selfie
  3. Confirm personal information
  4. Enter and verify cell phone number
  5. Upload insurance information (with or without insurance card)

  • Most applications are approved within 48 hours.

Q: I'm new to electric vehicles, how do I know where to find public charging stations?

A: There are several maps available for finding charging stations. Our favorites are Plugshare.com and ChargePoint.com/drivers. Download the apps for easy reference, or simply bookmark these sites in your browser.

Q: I've never driven an electric vehicle. What do I need to know?

A: It's probably a little different than what you're used to with a fueled vehicle. We have a quick start guide that will give you all the basics. It is also laminated in the vehicle for easy reference.

Q: How do I use a charging station?

A: Follow these instructions:

  1. Download the free charging station app.
  2. Create a free account (with a valid credit card).
  3. Locate a station using an app or map .
  4. Check availability of station (never unplug someone else's car that is still charging).
  5. Once at available charging station, tap to charge (tap your RFID card or, with the charging station app open, tap phone to stations reader symbol).
  6. Once authorized, remove charging connector from station and plug into your electric vehicle; ; it should start charging immediately.
  7. You may need to initiate charge by selecting station on the app and clicking "Start Charge".
  8. App will monitor charge speed, level of charge, and ETA to full charge*.

*Please note some charging stations charge a fine if plugged in after completely charged.

Q: How many miles am I able to travel on a full charge?

A: The 2023 Nissan Leaf has 212 miles to a full charge; but energy usage varies depending on city or highway driving, rate of  acceleration, extreme weather conditions, and other energy being pulled from the battery, like heating and air conditioning.

Driving in "B" mode will help regenerate energy as you slow down by simply letting your foot off the “gas” pedal instead of actively engaging the braking system.

Q: Do I have to return it with a full charge?

A: As it is a nice courtesy to return fully charged, we require at least 40% battery upon return, or you will incur a fine.

Q: We have a long trip coming up, can my friend/family member share driving?

A: No, only the registered member who made the reservation may Dryv the vehicle.

Q: How do you plan on maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle between users throughout a day?

A: We require and trust our Dryvers to remove personal trash, debris and excessive dirt after usage or risk being fined. We have random inspections and the vehicle is professionally cleaned  periodically.

Q: Can I put a bike/ski rack on the vehicle?

A: Yes, however, member is responsible for any damages incurred to the vehicle.
